Monthly Book Club · Fall Session
Black Women & Relationships
These are the books I'm already reading for my own research on Black women's mental health and relationships. This session, I'm opening that reading up to a small group instead of doing it alone.
Why this book club
A small room, on purpose.
I kept this small on purpose because I want an actual conversation, not a crowd. Each month's book gets paired with a bit of Black Feminist Thought, the same lens I use in my own research.
Black women and relationships, romantic, familial, friendship. What we inherited, what we're unlearning, what we're building instead.
You'd rather have one real conversation a month than scroll through a hundred posts about it.
The schedule
Second Thursday, every month
Your host
Breanna D. Brock, PhD
Sociologist · Stony Brook University
My research focuses on Black women's mental health and relationships. I'm always reading for it anyway, so I figured, why not do it with company instead of alone at my desk.
